Spring Gratitude

Happy almost Summer Solstice to those of you in the Northern Hemisphere — and happy almost Winter Solstice to those down South!

I’ve been loving this Spring. The weather on the West Coast has been especially kind. I’ve found so much joy in watching everything bloom — rhododendrons, lilacs, poppies and my fav – the roses! A bit cliché. But I’ve always thought roses are just so representative of life – beautiful, delicate and a bit prickly! Certainly we've been reminded about how prickly and vulnerable life can be. I've been holding the Collective strongly in my prayers asking for protection and safety to all those facing conflict, discrimination, injustice and uncertainty. While I've also been so inspired by the collective action to stand against hate and injustice.

This season, I took my first leap into growing medicinal plants, guided by Dr. Jaqui of Xálish Medicines in her Grow Your Own Medicine course (which I can’t recommend enough if you’ve been curious about cultivating plant allies). It’s my first time growing from seed — I had no idea how much attention these tiny green beings would need, but it’s been such a gift. There’s something powerful about tending to plants you’ll eventually work with for teas, tinctures, oils, and salves. Plant medicine has played a significant role in my own well-being journey and it’s been beautiful to deepen that connection through the growing process.

I’ve also been relishing my evening walks — there’s something about Spring that just feels like movement, growth, becoming. That energy is carrying through into my work as well, and I wanted to share a few things that have been unfolding.

One of those is a workshop I’m hosting called Attracting Abundance – Scent, Spirit & Ritual. (Registration is technically closed, but I can probably squeeze you in if you message me soon!) We’ll be working with the astrology of Jupiter in Cancer and crafting personalized abundance essential oil room sprays. As I’ve been preparing, I’ve been diving deep into the healing properties of essential oils. One study that stayed with me explored how bergamot was used to ease symptoms of PTSD in first responders!! It reminded me of a few things I come back to often:

1.     There are so many different ways to support healing.

2.     The land has wisdom for us — always.

3.     Healing often shows up in unexpected forms.

4.     Tiny shifts can lead to meaningful transformation.

Spring often feels like a birthing season — a time when things that have been resting and gestating quietly through winter begin to show their faces. That’s been true for me personally and in my work. Over the past few months, I’ve been connecting with so many incredible folks doing work that resonates deeply. It’s felt like a season of expansion and community building.
